- To produce people that are ready to enter the workforce, in some capacity, during or after their time in school
The Image of the Learner
- The learner is an active body that is inquisitive and needs a facilitator to push learning forward
- The learner is one that can both receive and deliver information
-The learner can come in many forms
The Nature and Substance of Student Work
-The work should be done with a purpose or end goal in mind
-The work meets a need that the student has
-The work is interactive and hands-on at some points and straightforward and relatively bland at others
- The work should include a variety of tasks
-The work should allow for opportunities to work alone and with others
The Image of the Teacher
-The teacher is to prepare the students for more than the content
-The teacher is a liaison between the students and the material that the students believe is too difficult for them
-The teacher is someone the students can confide in and have confidence in
-The teacher is one to allow for progress of the students and realize it is a selfless profession
The Image of the Curriculum
- The curriculum should be broad and include end goals
-The curriculum should not be very specific as to limit learning

-The curriculum should meet the standards
-The curriculum should leave room for individual teaching and learning opportunities
The Preferred Pedagogy
- The pedagogy should be flexible based on student needs
- The pedagogy should be interactive and incorporate multiple preferred learning styles
- The pedagogy should not be based solely on the curriculum or standards
-The pedagogy should reflect the individual teacher, to an extent
-The pedagogy is one of the most important aspects in teaching; the teacher should take it seriously
The Preferred School Climate
- The school climate is one the fosters unity and community
- The school climate is a safe one for all people
- The school climate is one that strives for everyone to do his or her best, no matter what that might be
